How to paint a Swanicorn Dragon

Pick design
Scale it to canvas size
Transfer printed image on graphite paper
Transfer graphite image to canvas

Paint background

Paint in white clouds

Add gold detailing to clouds
Paint dragon body (mixed 5 gradients of green, meds to shadows, meds to light)

Apply black ink for scales

Paint back scales and head scales
Paint under belly
Outline with black

Paint face details and rainbow

Paint beak and eye
Outline both with black

Added light yellow chinese fleres
and wa la!

  1. Painting on a layer of sealer or varnish is optional, though it will help the paint to stick. (It's also said to slow down the evaporation of moisture from the pumpkin helping it to last longer, but really, painted pumpkins are temporary artworks.) Any type of general purpose sealer or acrylic medium ought to be okay, but if in doubt do a small test on the bottom of your pumpkin first. hot rod black
